All you need to do is contact While You're Away, and we choose the best sitters for your home.

These are responsible people, usually in early retirement - animal lovers, of course - carefully selected and interviewed by us in their own homes. They operate strictly to our code of practice and we can produce references if required. We take out insurance to cover their time in your home.

We arrange to visit you a few days before you depart, so that you can meet the selected sitter and be sure you and your pets take to him or her. At this meeting, you tell us your precise needs - everything from dog feeding and walking times to mowing the lawn to arranging a lift to the airport.

The cost is usually around £175 per week inclusive of food, plus travelling expenses. This compares favourably with kennelling fees, without the need for inoculations, or the anxiety or upset of taking your pets to a strange place.

In addition you can save on airport parking fees, or paying a gardener to carry out routine tasks.

But above all, you have the peace of mind of knowing your home and pets are safe and looked after.
